LAND OF THE BEARS
We have a small summer cottage in eastern Finland. For a wildlife photographer, the place is a paradise. It is close to a narrow strip of no man's land along the Finnish-Russian border, one of the very few safe havens remaining for wildlife. Did you know that the densely forested eastern Finland borderlands are one of the best places on earth to photograph and observe wild brown bears? A place worth visiting for any wildlife enthusiast.
If you are interested in photographing brown bears in Finland, we suggest you book your photography hide from Bear Centre in Vartius, Kuhmo. The season starts around Mid-April when the first big males move out of their winter dens, ending in late October as bears leave for Winter hibernation.
